Longacre Announces Appointment of New Head

The Board of Governors is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Matthew Bryan as the new Head of Longacre School.

Mr Bryan, who will take up the Headship in January 2018, is currently Deputy Head (Academic) at St Ronan’s School, a very successful co-educational preparatory school in Kent.

Matthew has an MSc Education (Learning and Teaching) from St Anne’s College, Oxford having read Classics and gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from St John’s College, Cambridge. Prior to working in preparatory schools, Matthew taught Latin and Greek at Hampton School and King’s College School, Wimbledon.

Matthew is a keen golfer and has run the past two London marathons. He also plays the flute and guitar and is looking forward to supporting all the extra-curricular activities at Longacre.

Mr Bryan said “Longacre is a very impressive school with a high level of pastoral care and commitment to its pupils of all ages and abilities. I am looking forward immensely to joining Longacre and leading the school from the beginning of the Lent term in its next stage of development.”

In confirming his appointment the Chair of Governors, Andrew Blurton, commented  “The Board has no doubt that Matthew will make a hugely positive impact at Longacre, continuing to advance its educational remit, whilst at the same time embracing its pastoral and wide-ranging extra-curricular activities. He is very much someone who will continue and enhance the Longacre ethos.”
