Form II

Form II is the top year group of our Pre-Prep and as such the children are given different responsibilities such as library monitors, House representatives and becoming members of the school’s Green Team.

Just as in Form I each class has one Qualified Teacher, supported by a Teaching Assistant, who uses key elements from the National Curriculum to build upon prior learning in the Pre-Prep.

Your child will enjoy a full and wide range of experiences supported by their Form teachers and all of our specialist teachers.  All of these teaching and learning opportunities will continue to promote not only your child’s active engagement but their growth in learning and motivation.

Being part of the wider school community is very important and Form II join the whole school for assemblies three times a week as well as being fully involved in other areas of school life such as class assemblies, House events, Sports Days and the Key Stage 1 Nativity play. They are also part of our community outreach programme and visit the residents in a local care home regularly.

Following some of our topics during the year Form II children will have a termly year group trip. During the Michaelmas term the children visit Hampton Court Palace as part of our historical based topic ‘Kings and Queens’. In the Lent term, whilst ‘Comparing Localities’ the children will make a field trip to compare countryside and urban locations in the Guildford area. Finally, as part of their ‘Growth’ topic in science there is a trip to Sayers Croft Rural Studies Centre in Ewhurst.

We ensure that the transition to the Prep School is a confident one for all our children. The children spend time with the Form III staff so they can get to know them and we arrange a ‘Come and See What We Do’ day in the Michaelmas term to give them a taste of what life in the Prep School will be like.
