Life before Longacre
I was born and raised in South Africa. My love for nature and wildlife led me to study a BSC degree specialising in zoology and microbiology. During this time, I discovered I had a passion for teaching and so I went on to complete my PGCE. I have since worked in both junior and senior independent schools in South Africa, where I was the Academic Head of Natural Sciences and Head of Year.
As a family we emigrated to England at the start of the COVID 19 pandemic (crazy timing!) and I stayed at home with my two young children. Now that my son and daughter are older, I am excited to get back to doing what I love….to teach! I look forward to this new adventure at Longacre.
Roles at School
I am thrilled to be the Head of Science and to share my passion for all things biology related.
Away from the Classroom
I love to read a good mystery novel and I am happiest being outside in nature. I am also an avid sports lover and you will often find me watching my favourite sports such as water polo, swimming and hockey. I used to play and coach multiple sports back in South Africa and I look forward to getting involved with them again. If I am not running around after my two kids, I love to spend time with my family and friends.
